This coal is preferred to all others by the Manawatu Railway Co The firm is also landing Hetton small coal, which has the reputation of being an excellent smithy coal. Fire Police and Salvage corps meet to-night. Rev J. J. Lewis lectures in the Salvation Army's Hall to-morrow evening in aid of the Army's rescue and missionary work. Rev H. Beggs will officiate as Chairman, and several friends have promised to contribute songs. Messrs Henry Fielder & Co., of Wei lington, who are one of the largest furniture manufacturers in New Zealand, publish an inset with this edition.
