The Reciprocity Treaty.

Mr Deakin cabled to Sir Joseph Ward to-day, asking if the Reciprocity Treaty was likely to be passed by the Hew Zealand Legislature. The House of Representatives, by 17 votes to 15, adopted Mr Fraser's amendment on the Preference Bill, provided that British goods should only be given preference if carried on British vessels, manned by white seamen
