The purity and percentage of ultramarine determine! the bleaching properties of Blue. Laundiy Blue is made up of ultramarine, in combination with glucose or i some other substance, to bind the V particles into a nob. It is die ultramarine that is of value, for it does the bleaching. Some Blues contain an excess of ~ binding matter, others are made of inferior ultramarine, while some contain die faults of both.
