Accidents ana Fatalities.

The death is recorded of Mr George E. Hall, storekeeper of Shannon. MiHall left Shannon by train on Thursday morning l'or Palmerston, being then apparently in his usual health, but at about 1 p.m. was taken suddenly ill while in the sale yards. He was taken in a cab to his hotel, and a telegram was sent to Mrs Hall, who arrived by the next train. Meantime medical aid had been called in, but in spite of every attention death took place just before 5 o'clock in the evening. The death has also occurred of Mr Abraham E. Graham, of Te Horo, a well-known and respected settler, aged 82. He leaves behind him a widow, three daughters and one son to mourn their loss, among the number being Mrs Wilkie, of Waitotara, Mrs Sinclair, of Te Horo, and late of Greymouth, Mrs Hansen, of Western Australia, and Mr John Graham, of Te Horo. The twenty months' old son of Sirs. Elizabeth Stowell, of Kereru, fell into an open well on his mother's property and was drowned. (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, January 26. Mr Frederick Sutton, one of Napier's very earliest settlers, and formerly M.H.R. for the town, died to- day. He was in business as a storekeeper in the very early days, and afterwards removed to Clive, wliere he carried on sheepfarming for a number of years. Latterly, he ran a commission agency business in Napier. He leaves a widow, one son, and five daughters. WELLINGTON, Tins day. The body found in the harbour yesterday has been identified as that of William Swan, 29 years of age, who came from England as third cook on the Tongariro. THAMES, This day. Elizabeth Lynch, 84 years, died this morning. Deceased was the relict of the late John Lynch and arrived in the colony in 1843. She was one of the oldest residents of Auckland and the Thames and was held in high esteem.
