Abraham and Williams, Ltd.,. report as follows :— At Masterton on Wednesday we had a heavy yarding of sheep, a much larger number being yarded than advertised. At the start of the sale bidding was dull, but improved towards the close. Inquiry for good breeding ewes was animated, and we sold the whole of the yarding at advanced prices. The yarding of lambs was large, but of mixed quality, and the sale was somewhat dull. Few cattle were penned and very little business w*as done at auction. We quote :—Sheep—Fat ewes, 13s to Ms ; best breeding ewes, 14s 6d ; others. 14s Id, 14s, 13s 9d, 13s 6d down to 9s Sd ; ewes and lambs (all counted) inferior, 4s 9d; fat lambs lis Gd ; rape lambs wodlley, 10s to 10s 6d ; shorn 9s to 9s 7d ; store lambs, 7s to 7s Cd ; inferior, 4s to os (3d ; best wethers very forward,. 14s 2d ; others. 13s to 13s Id. CattleFat cows, £4 15s; 15 to 18mos heifers, £2 to £2 5s ; yearling heifers 32s ; ISmos steers, 30s. Pigs—Porkers, £1 Is; suckers, lis Gd. At Palmerston on Thursday cattle came forward freely, and we had avery large yarding. Prices showed no improvements and bidding was not keen. The greater portion of the various lines, however, changed hands, vendors being inclined te quit at the prices offered. The sheep entry was small, one nice line of 2-tooth Pvomney ewes made 27s 6d and a good line of lambs 10s 6d. Forward bullocks 14s, 3-year bullocks £4 to £4 4s, steers £3 10s, 2-year steers £2 ISs "to £3; 18-montlis steers £2 5s to £2 9s, 18-montlis heifers 34s to 30s, 15-months steers 395, yearlings 26s to 31s, 2-year heifers £2, forward cows £2 7s Gd to £2 lis. At Mr Pascal's clearing sale on Wednesday competition was brisk and the sheep realised good prices. Four and Gtooth ewes 20s Id, 2-tooth ewes 19s, f.m. ewes 13s lOd, fat wethers 15s 9d, 2tooth wethers 14s 3d, lambs 13s Id, cull lambs 7s 7d, G-tooth Eomney rams 2'i guineas. i '
