Reutor's Agency states the Duke, of Connaught, when visiting Brest in January, mooted the proposal for a friendly meeting of the navies. Brest has now been chosen. The Daily Telegraph states the French squadron will visit England during Cowes' week. AGENT-GENERAL. Mr Coghlan has assumed the duties of New South Wales' Agent-General. REVENUE RETURNS. The British revenue for the March quarter was £56,933,000, the Customs contributing £8,422,000, excise £8,869,000 and stamps £2,270,000. A CONCESSION FORFEITED. WARSHIPS IN COLLISION. LONDON, April 2. During the Kaiser's visit to Gibraltar the cruiser Friedrich Karl collided with the British battleship Prince George. The former was slightly damaged and the latter somewhat worse, and had to be docked. IRISH ISSUES. The Ulster Unionists have decided not to support the Government on Irish issues unless Sir Antony MacDonell is transferred. A NEW TURBINE.
