Baptist Union.
.(Per Fres_ Association.)
DUNEDIN, Oct. 25. The Baptist Union business to-day dealt mainly with missionary work. At the mission luncheon, addresses were given by the Rev. W. Hewitson (Presbyterian), W. B. Sanders (Congregational) and W. A. Sinclair (Methodist). On resuming the Rev. Hay moved his motion that the Conference petition the Presbyterian Assembly of the colony to appoint a committee to confer with one appointed ky-the Conference on the subject of believers in baptism with a view to a better understanding between the two denominations on this doctrine and a closer association with each other.
After discussion, in which it was pointed out that there was no indication as to how the Presbyterian Church would regard the matter, the motion was withdrawn.
