Suicide by Strychnine

A Pathetic Letter.

The following particulars are furnished of the recent suicide at L'eeston:—At about half-past five o'clock on Thursday morning Mr Andrew Aston, of Shanzie farm, Leeston, went to call his daughter, Agnes, but she was hot in the'room. He, however, found a'letter written by her, in which she stated her intention to take poison. A search was made, and her dead body was subsequently found in a drain, about 2ft deep, 200 yds from her home. " The letter was as follows :—

" Dear Father,—l shall be past hope when you find me. lam going to take poison. I am sorry to cause you so much pain, but forgive me. I "cannot live any longer. I know lam half mad with worry, but say good-bye to all mime. _ With my best love, and may God forgive you and all the rest.—From your daughter, Agnes." A cup, which had contained strychnine, was found near the bodj.
