Messrs Gelhor and Co., Ltd., wholesale manufacturing confectioners, havo just had one of the most up-to-date premises in the colony erected in Church-' street West.. The premises are in brick / and measure over all 47ft. by 72ft and are divided into 9 compartments, viz., office, sample and show room, boiling room, 25ft by 20ft, drying room, 9ft byf v ; 21ft, starch room, 28ft by 25ft, chocolate • room, 16ft by 25ft, store room, 20ft by 20ft, warehouse, 20ft by 20ft, and an engine and boiler room 14ft 6in by 20ft. The machinery, which is the latest and very best procurable, consists oi a caramel cutter,. creamer, automatic chocolate machine (the latter "alone cost £600), two revolving pans, disintegrator for manufacturing icing sugar, chocolate tapping table, 6 machines for manufacturing different boiled goods, hand-made, ball machine, 2 water slabs, 6 pouring slabs, and 4 furnaces. The whole of the machinery is driven by an 8-horse power steam engine, the steam being supplied by a 12-horse power boiler. The machinery has been fitted up by Mr A. Mar-, tin, engineer, Messrs Cooper and Ward t being the contractors for the building. There arc at present 20 hands busily employed in the factory, every one being an expert in his or her particular branch of the trade. • '

Mr Gelhor having disposed of his retail business the company has decided to go solely into the wholesale trade. They are prepared to supply, the local tradespeople with, goods of all descriptions at less cost than any outside firm. ... A speciality is being made of the manufacture of chocolate goods' and icing sugar. None but. the very, best of materials are being used in the manufacture of all goods. Mr Gelhor will still continue to act as the travelling representative of the firm. A large 1 stock of confectionery of all descriptions will be stocked, and orders by telephone will be delivered free of cost to any part of the borough within one hour from receipt of order.
