Plain and Fancy Dress Hall.
A plain and fancy dress ball was held by the Linton Quadrille Assembly last Friday evening. About 60 couples were present and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The music was contributed by Messrs G. Anderson (piano), J. Anderson (violin), and A. Ward (cornet). Mr F. Greer officiated as M.C.. The fancy costumes, which were worn by the following, were much admired, and made a most attractive scene when, dancing was in progress; — Miss AScorrar, Spanish girl; Miss 0. Sermon, :England; Miss H. Kingsbeer, Mascotte; Mrs Ward, Cinderella; Miss Bell, Folly; Miss P. Ames, Normanby peasant; Miss E. Ames, Swiss girl; Miss M.Anderson, Duchess of Cornwall; Miss Daisy Shere, French peasant; Miss Daisy Rix, Highland lassie; Miss Lily Anderson, winter; Miss Daisy Wadsworth. Mary, Mary, quite contrary; Miss Jane Harris, Grecian lady; Messrs F. Greer, clown; A. Rix, tramp; J. Tomlin, retired old gentleman ; C. Clarke, Monte Carlo; G. Greer, cricketer; A. E. Currin, Oddfellow; E. Thompson, English footballer; S. Young, old maid; G. J. Ward, clown.
