In a recent issue we dealt with the work of the Public Health Department in combatting the spread of tubercular j disease. That the article was appreciated is shown by the following letter, which we have received from Dr Mason, Chief Health Officer for the Colony:— "Many thanks for the help given by your leader on 'The White Man's Scourge.' I sincerely wish every paper would do something. It is the biggest battle that any country can engage in, and it wants every man's help. It is weary work sometimes battling against old ideas, but I think another year or so will see New Zealand provided with better accommodation for these poor sufferers than any other country."
