New Zealand Pictures.
. We have received from Messrs G. If,: Bennett and Co. of this town, a portfolio containing 10 pictures of ■ New Zealand scenery in colour from original water colour paintings by L. W. Wilson, Esq.; This i- tihe first time that paintings of our sc-. ~cry have thus been reproduced and the portfolio contains some~ of the most, delightful colour work we-havo-seen. .The pictures are as follows :— Mitre ; Peak, MUford Sound, Cathedral Peaks,. Lake" Manapouri, Otira Gor^e, ■ Mount Cook, the River Avon, Wangantii ■River, ; Mariawatu Gorge, HSnemoa's: Bath, Nihotupu Falls near Auckland,^ and a picture of; a pretty hali-Saift Maori girl. 'The work is so remarkably well done that it is almost impossible td tell- that the. pictures - are not tyrigufariSimilar work has been, sold in England for two guineas the portfolio, but Messrs Bennett and Co. offer the tea pictures, which may be seen both framed and unframed in their windows, including the portfolio, at the wonderfully cheap price of 9s 6d ; 8 for 7s 6d or Is per picture. No more delightful present could oe obtained to send to friends abroad. As tho supply is limited- early applications should be made or disappointment, may result.... . . =~. V
