The Fiscal Campaign.

LONDON, October 23.
The Hon. H. H. Ascraith, at Inverness, declared the fiscal campaign was a mischievous crusade, carried on with the Government's connivance against the life work of Cobden, Peel and Gladstone and urged electors to end it. He was confident colonial democrats would not purchase preferential treatment in the markets of the Motherland at the cost of lowering the standard of life of the democracy.
