Cadet Battalion Parade

The first annual parade of the No. 1 Wanganui Battalion of school cadets "was held in Palmerston to-day: The following companies met at the Drill Hall and marched.to the Showground at 1 p.m. :—Foxton school, one company; under Captain Furrie; Feilding schools, two companies, Adjutant W. H. McLean ; Campbell-street school, two companies, Captains Warden and Gabites; College street school, one campaiiy, Captains Friberg and Edie; Terrace End, one company, Captain'Powell. . • The parade was in the charge of Major Vernon and Adjutant W. H. McLean (Feildinjg). Over 200 boys were present and a useful afternoon was put it. The battalion excited general attention as it passed through the Square; enroute to the Showground. It was headed by the Campbell-street bugle band, arid mr eluded the Feildjng,fife,and drum/ band.
