Hawke's Bay Show.

(Special to "Standard.")

The Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society were unfortunate as regardathe weather on the opening day of .their show on Wednesday. However, the rain cleared oft and yesterday the weather was beautifully fine, but the continuing downpour on the- previous day caused the ground to become very sloppy. Although there was a good attendance — about the same as last year—yet the weather undoubtedly caused many who live at a distance to remain at home. As usual the management was all that could be desired ; the officials, benefiting by the experience of past years and m^ pursuing a progressive po'liey, had etfected several improvements since last year which were greatly appreciated by patrons. In this connection a word of praise is due to the courta&us and efficient secretary,, Mr W. F. J; Anderson, for the way in which he carried out his onerous duties.
