N.Z. loan and Mercantile Stock Report.

The Uew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows:—At Palmerston North on Thursday, in spite pi the inclement weather, -we i had a fair yarding, of catties. The attendance of buyers was very small, but good business resulted, and we were able to effect almost a total clearance. The sheep that were advertised did not come forward, but we were able to dispose of the line of wethers, which was advertised', by private treaty, at 17s. We quote :—Weavers, 22s -6d; heifers in calf, £3 15s to. £5 12s; .store cows^ £3 8s 6d ; forward cows, £4 to £4 6s ; fprwarfcl steers', £4 19s; fat cows, £5 to £5 11s-; bulls, £1 12s !6d to £5.

The New Zealand Loan ard Mercantile Agency Co , Ltd., report on their MaEterton stock sale as followß :—We submitted a good yarding in both sheep and cattle, but owing to the wot weather the stock was not looking nt their best. In sheep we effected a total clearance. Pricea were, however, slightly in favour of ' buyers. Bidding for cattle was lifeles?, and very little business was done. We quote :—Medium fat ewes 14s 6d to 14s 9d, fat and forward ewes 133 9d to 143 3d, store ewes 103 to 11s 3d, ewes in lamb, best 17a, others 12s. 6d to 13s 93, 4 tooth wethers 14s 6d to 15s, 2 and 4 tooth wethe-B 15s. Cattle—Fas cows £5 5s to £6 oa, forward bullocks £6 12s 6d to £6 4s, heifers in calf £4 to J £5, cows in oilf £1 to £i 10s, forward cows £4, weaners 35a to £2 2u We an. nounce our next sale for Wednesday, June 8.
