Wellington, May 25. The New Zealand Rugby Union tonight received applications from Ota^o, Canterbury, r»nd Manawa.u for matches agftinst the English team. Ocat;o apked specially for the England v. New Zealand match. Manawatu accompanied the request for an ordinary match by.a gaarantee of £300. Consideration of the requests was postponed until Saturday. The following three fixtures for provincial ganiea with the English toam were made :— Otago, "Wednesday, August 10th. ■ Canterbury, Saturday, August 18th. Auckland, Saturday, August 20th. Other dates will be settled at next meeting. • Mr Galbraith will go round with the English team. Mesßrs Harris, Faohe, Murray, and O. Evans have been appointed selectors.
