Scott, with Hutana, had to be content with second place on this occasion, but be has effected a \vonderfulimprovement in the big gelding, whioh ii will be remembered paid a big dividend at the Foxton summer meeting, winning, the back hurdles after a great race with Va'kyrie and Ranana, who finished in the order named. The locally trained Vahma, who,, barring her Feilding per formance when sha was obviously unfit, has run most consistently, scored in the Second Hack Hurdles, and judging by her perform .noe she Bhould Dot be long before plaoing further laurels to her credit. The Turanaki traint-d Dick Turpin, formerly an inmate of F. Tilley'a staMe, scored a oouple of wins in the Balgownio and Farewell Hack races. He was one of the fittest horses en the course and has been a profitable purchase to his present owners.
