JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.
On Monday morning there were four Justices of the Peace in attendance at the S.M. Court to transaot business. This morning two Justices were summoned for-the usual, hour, but it was 10.20 p.m. before the first put in (an appearance, despite the fact that thfjre was a lot of truancy business to be dealt with. At half.past ten the Clerk of iho Court reported that another Justice *vas required, and an effort was made with the aid of the telephone to obtain tli c assistance desired. At 10.85 Mr W. Park filled the breaou and business wos ■ \
commenced. It ig distinctly unfair to persons whose attendanca is required at Court that thoy should be kept waiting after tha prescribed hour. They have business to attend to equally with the* Justices, and those members of the Great Unpaid who have not timo to attend to the duties involved should not accept office. Their dereliction of duty is equally inconvenient to Justices who have to bo summoned at short notice to transict the waiting business.
