LONDON, May^o. IVith referenco to.the Daily Chronicle's, correspondent's quotation of a letter by Professor Rentoul, of Melbourne, on tho treatment of blacks in Australia, tbat newspaper and its correspondent's remark that the replies of the Princeps Protector of Aborigines in Westralia is more diplomatic than genuine. A letter from Professor Rentoul, received in London, and now in the possession of Mr Lefroy, Agent-General for Westralia, indicates that Professor Rentoul gathered his information about the aborigbies in Westralia from Malcolmson, who started the ao-ita-tion. ° j
