The Navy League has caught on at Duncdin. The membership fiow totals 200. It is stated that tho Minister for Public Works has been instructed., while in London, to arrange important matters relating to loan moneys. Under the Secondary Schools A.ct of last, session there will be. this year over 1000 -boys and girls in free places in the secondary schools of the colony. Somo consternation was caused at the Carterton school just at closing time on Friday afternoon, through a little g*irl partly swallowing a two-shilling piece whicJi she liad in her mouth. The coin stuck! half-way down her throat, and the chi*u naturally became very terrified, and, -:also, considerably scared her companions.
