—• . (Press Association.) Hokitika, March 15. ' W. C. Kensington, Under-Secretary for Lands, who has completed a visit to Westland, to-day left for Wellington via Cnnstchurcb. He is greatly pleased with the resources of Westland for laud settlement, his original view of the district being quite disillusioned. He recognises the importance of extending the railway south to tap the magnificent timber country and facilitate settlements He holds very optimistic views as io tbe future of Westland in material progress when its isolation is removed and" the country opened.
