No News of the Missing Boats
(Per Press Association—Copyright) BRISBANE, March 14. At a late hour to-night there was no further news of the rnissin-g boats or tbe position of the Aramac. Several steamers have been out searching since early morning. At four . this afternoon the A.U.S.N. Company received information that the searcfi,-ha_ failed to discover any sign of the boats between Bustard and Burnett Heads. A second report stated that a pilot boat despatched from Burnett Heads had returned without having sighted the Aramac. Other search vessels have not returned. The steamer Fitzroy -has been despatched from Hockhampton to assist.
rHhere are approximately about 100 passengers, including a number of women and children, in the missing boats. The anxiety is growing. The'-ship-ping and newspaper offices are crowded with the relations of those
wre«ked. It is hoped the boats have succeeded in landing somewhere along tho coast out of i reach of ready communication. On the other tend, with the turbulent sea running after the gale, and the long 'distance between where they left the Aramac and too coast, there are some grounds for the worst fears ; also Tor anxiety as to the fate of the Aramac herself and those aboard.
