(Per Press Association.) /': Masteetox, February 15. At a public meeting to-night, the following resolution, proposed by A. W. Hogg, : M.H.E.. ; was carried unanimously. "That this meeting considers thatthe proposal of the South African mine owners to 'introduce indentured Chinese labour means the resuscitation of slavery in a most objectionable form m that dependency; being opposed to the first principles of British rule and demands the intervention of- the Imperial authority.!' '■:'■' It was decided to forward a copy of the resolution to the Premier and convey tke'thanks of tlio citizens of Masterton to him for his vigorous protest against the action of the Transvaal Government.
