Mar don and others, Hitnatangi Hill, offering.to build a.school at the mill, if the Board would agree to open it.—Agreed to. From E. F. Field, Palmerston-Pahia-tua Forest Eeserve, re establishment, of a school.—Approval to school being established by Wellington Board given. From Wanganui Educational Institute, objecting to teacher in drawing conducting examination.—Received.

From ITtiku School Committee, objecting to building of school on any other site.—Decided, on 'motion o£ Rev. .J. Ross, to apply for money to build a school about half mile south of present site.— A motion to build onthepresent site was lost, only Messrs Letkbridge, JPirani and Spurdle voting for it. From Lytton-street Committee, urging necessity of increased accommodation, if only a marquee.—Government had refused to agree to this, but it was decided to again make representations.

From Kawbatau Committee, askingfcigrant for making track.—No funds. From Bongotea Committee, re extra cost of metalling.—To be paid. From G. Tolhurst, expressing regret at proposed closing of GienorouaSchooL —To be informed that Board has no intention of closing school, but if Government would not provide funds for building or pay rent, Board had no alternative.—lt was stated that Mr Vile, M.H:B M was making representations in the matter. From Pohangina and Taonui Committees, asking for enlargement of residences.--Referred to Building Committee. . ; From Secretary Feildmg Athletic Committee, re petronage of Board-to loOjds schoolboys' race.—Agreed to. From New Century Typewriter Co., offering machines for school use for £15 each. From Orouaßridge Committee, urging necessity o£ providing new tank. —To be obtained at once. From Longburn re broken WindoWSi —Decided to reply that the Committee must make provision. MISCEItEANEOTTS. It was decided to agree to the establishment of a school at Manganiahu Valley. The chairman reported against the alteration of the Glen Nevis school site.—lt was decided to hold the matter over till next meeting, and in the meantime to inform Mr Newman that the Board would receive a deputation on the matterIn reply to the Chairman the Secretary stated that the approximate cost of postage and telegrams was about £90 for postage and £25 for telegrams.—The Chairman remarked that the amounts for the Auckland Board were £500 and £500 and £300 respectively. Finances.—General account, credit, £837 2s 2d. Building account, debit, £1952 19s od, ditto, special grant; in hand, £6<H 17s 3d. It was decided to inform teachers that all quarterly returns and reports must be sent to the office within five days after the last day of the quarter that the school is open. Four members of the Parewanui School Committee resigned, as a protest against the action of their Chairman, and asked that a public meeting be held to fill the vacancies.—Agreed to. A tender of £180 for the erection of a school at- Coal Creek and £10 for a shelter shed was accepted. ■ - ,
