Taylor-Carrington Company.

" NEVER DESPAIR." The above-named favourite company are announced in our advertising columns to play at the Theatre Royal, Palmerston, on Wednesday ?ilay 20th, appearing in a s'pocit.Kular and sensational drama. nititled " Never Despair." rmting Miss Carrington's and Mr Taylor's absence from this colony tliey had paid a visit to West Australia, where they had a phenomenally successful tour their ten weeks' season there resulting in a profit of one thousand pounds. They also played a very successful season in Adelaide, tho city in which " Never Despair " had its first Australian production, after having played two seasons in London, and over 1000 nights in the provincial towns o[ Great Britain. Charlie Taylor bought, at a very high price, the sole right of producing "Never Despair " in Australia, but has since sold the right, of production in TUelbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Mobart, and Launceston to Bland Holt, the celebrated Metropolitan manager, who was so delighted with the piece that he paid Charlie Taylor a largo sum for the privilege. In order that

•" Newv Despair " should surpass anything- ever attempted in the provinces, Charlie Taylor and Miss Carrington have made several additions to the already strong company, and the scenery has been painted by no less then four of the best artists in Australia' viz •John Jlenning-.s, .1. Little, Harry Crist and Winnermark. the first named being-, without doubt, thu premier Australasian scene painter, and the others, all men in tlio front rank of their profession. Miss Carring-ton appears to ativ>Tet,'a,;>i» in the piece as " Jack," a London newsboy, and Mr Taylor as Horatio Sprig-gins, a humorous bibulous tutor, has a part in which he fairly revels. The other ladies and gentlemen of the company get great praise for their respective perfomances in both Metropolitan and provincial exchanges, and the entire production will doubtless be worthy od Mr Taylor's hig-h reputation as a caterer for the amuse-ment-loving- public. AVc feel sure that there will be a very large muster to welcome back Miss Car-ring-ton and Mr Taylor, and witness the performance of " Never Despair."
