Sensational Charges.
The District Court a,t Berlin is engaged in the investigation of sensational charges against Frau yon Goltz, a wealthy lady residing in Charlottenburg, a fashionable suburb of Berlin. Sho is accused firstly, of poisoning her first husband, Karl Friebe, for the purpose of1 obtaining possession of his fortune. Finding the law required her share to his fortune to share with her three sons, it is alleged, she proceeded to get rid of them. The two elder sons were, it is asserted, goaded to suicide by persistent persecution. One shot himself, and the other hanged himself. It is said she committed a second murder by poisoning her youngest son five- years ago. There remained tho eldest son's child, who had the right to claim half the fortune It is alleged that for five years she had been plotting to murder this boy, now thirteen years old, and living with his guardian, Herr Knabe. She almost succeeded in
gaining possession of her grandson when tho boy accosted the Kaiser in the street and begged for his The Kaiser ordered investigations. Meanwhile Herr Knabe published the above accusations in the Kleines Journal, and had a pamphlet distributed gratis in the streets. The Berlin District Court proceedings will show whether the charges are well founded.
