Thrco Governments recommend the Boer generals the wisdom o adopting a conciliatory attitiulo toward-. Britain It is stated in Brussels Boer circles that the generals' friends in London arc hopeful oi obtaining frc iv tho Government, part, or tho \vh lo of the financial assistance to the Boers refused by Mr Chomberl.-ii* at the first interview with thn general.-*. Negotiations are proceeding. Dr Reil_'.. son gees to Madagascar to report upon the prospects there for a Boor settlement. The Daily Telegraph's advices from Belgium state that Germany is determined not to allow anti-Briti3_ demonstrations, nnd tho Government has threatened that unless such demonstrations were avoidod thoy will expel tho Boer generals. Possibly thoy will abandon their tour. Other advices state that the generals aro dissatisfied with the prospects on the Continont, preferring to rely on Britain's generosity. They return to South Africa at the earliest opportunity, Tho Daily Telegraph states that Belgium is also determined not to allow anti-British demonstrations, and threatens to expel iho Boor generals.
