At a meeting of the provincial council of the farmers' Union, it was resolved thit the Government instruct their veterinary surgeons to attend all cases when called upon, and institute a scale of charges to go to the Government j that manures bo supplied on a guaranteed analysis, and that an analyst be procured for tli'.t purpose, and also to analyse soil.

It was resolyed to take steps to secure
a reduction of freight on live stock by rail to Canterbury, and shortening the time of transit. It nag stated thai 'freight was the sitme ns twenty years ago, namely—6o ier truck.
