Palmerston North Brass Band.

Tho annual meeting of the Palmerston North Brass Band was held last evening, at tho Club Hotel. There was a fair attendance, and Mr W. Park was elected chairman.

A number oi apologies for absence were received, and donation of £1 1 from Mr T. T, Iverslake was received with thanks.

Mr C. Pickering wrote stating that owing to pressure of business he could not see his way clear to stand as a candidate for the conductorsbip.—lt was resolved to accept Mr Pickering's resignation, and that a hearty voto of thanks be accorded him for his past services.

The balance-sheet showed the receipts to bo £244 12s and the expenditure at £276 53. Asßets £596, and liabilities £171,

A vote of thanks was aocordod Mr Webb-Johnson for a proposal made thereby a new set of instruments could be obtaln'-d.

Resolved, that letters of thanks be forwarded to those gentlemen who had made donations to tho band.

Brophy; secre tary, Mr D Charker; treasurer, Mr Wilson ; librarian, Mr Clarke ; auditors, Messrs Graham ond Martin; committee, .Messrs Francis, Pittam, Jones, Thompson, and U,lo. Resolved that donations of £5 each bo made, to Messrs Pickering and Charker (secretary), special reference be.ng made to the oxcelltnt mannnr in which ihe latter had carried out hi' duties,

Rosr.lved that a donat-on of £1 Is bo made to tho librarian for past services.

A number ol honorary members were elected, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the outgoing officers.
