AUCKLAND MARKET REPORT.
Auckland, January 3. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:—Horses— an average muster at the Durham yards on Friday. The competition for anything showing quality was good. Heavy draughts sold at from £24 to £36 17s o'd (no extra heavy yarded), medium draughts £19 17s 6d to £26, hacks £5 12s o'd to £22 10s, weeds £118s to £4 15s.
Cattle.—At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were penned m less than average numbers. Beef was yarded bolow tho usual quantities. Ox beef sold at from 20s to 23s per 1001b, cow I7s to 19s. Steers sold from £8 to £10 os, cows £315s to £C> 17s 6d, empty cows £2 Gs to £3 14s, dairy cows from £'I 7s Gd to £7 15s. Sheep were beiow the average numbers and advanced from Is 6d to 3s per head over last week's prices. Wethers sold at from 9s Cd to ISs 3d, ewes 7s Gd to lls 6d, lambs 8s 9d to 14s Gd. Pigs sold well, porkers at from 17s Gd * to £2 17s 6d, weaaors 4s to lls 6d.
