At o ocloek last evening, Constable De NorviUe arrested Charles Cookery on a charge of aUeged horse stealing stated to have occurred here about February 12th, 1901. The horse, the property .of Mr I. C .Collinson, valued at £2o was lost from Palmerston about that date, and has since been identified in Ohnstchurch where it is alleged it was taken and sold by accused with several other horses.

Accused appeared before Mr Green.neld, S.M., at the Court this morninn- on the charge stated, and. remanded till next Wednesday. Bail was allowed in two sureties each of £50, and accused in his own re-cognisances of £100.
