PEODUCE MARKETS,
Harry Palmer quotes :— Poultry.—On Saturday we held a special sale of purebred poultry, some fine birds being entered, the majority being disposed of at satisfactory prices. Cockerels brought from 5s to 15s 6d each; pullets, -4s to 6s; ducks, 10s to 12s. Iv the "ordinary class good prices were realised. Cockerels, from 2s lid to 3s lOd.per pair;, hens, 3s to 4s; ducks, 4s .4d to 6s per pair. "■'.'• Pigs.—Good store pigs are bringing good average prices; weavers very cheap, owing to high prices of feed. Produce of all kinds is in good demand. Good eating potatoes are bringing big prices. Farmers are withholding' stocks in anticipation of a further rise. Seed potatoes, from £5 to £10; pig potatoes, 3s to 3s 9d per sack j -wheat, 2s 9d to 3s; oats, Is 9d to 2s ; onions,'2d' perlb; very firm chaff, £3 to £3 10s; carrots, 2s 6d per sack; pumpkins, 3s to 3s 6d per sack; seed peas, 4s 6d per bushel; cauliflowers and cabbages, Id to 2d; bacon and hams, 4d to-7d lb. A most successful clearing sale was held at Mr Caleb Smith's farm yesterday, everything being quitted at satisfactory Dairy cows brought from £5 to £9 2s 6d, averaging over £7; heifers, £2 12s to £5 2s 6df bull, £2; store -pigs, 12s; sow, £1 os; fowls, 3s Id per pair; ducks, 4s.
