CADET CORPS.

It mil be remembered that some time ago Mr r W. H. Collingwood, on behalf ot tie Local Citizens' Committee, wrote to the Defence Department asking for information in connection with the-pro-posed formation of a senior cadet corps in Palmerston. In reply, Mr Collinswood has been requested to forward his application to the District Military office and has also received the followina regulations bearing directly, on the -proposal :— r

The services of cadet corps other than school cadet corps may be accepted (provided not less than, forty lads nor more than sixty, from fourteen to eighteen years of age, are enrolled) under the following regulations :— Accoutrements will be issued as available by the Government, and a p ro . portwnate number of arms'. The captains of cadet corps will b e appointed by the Defence Sinilter on the recommendation of the Commandant ot the Defence Forces.
