FARM STOCK.
Of all the breeds of horses most suitable for farming purposes, few havo a higher reputation than the Shire stock, and the importation of purebred specimens of that celebrated strain is an event worthy of noto in any district. Wo aro therefore pleasod to learn that Mr T. Groenhow, of Buunythorpe, has on board the steamship Paparoa, due at Wellington to-day, two purebred Shire entires from the famous island stud, Garstang, Lancashire, which has produced some of the finest animals England has seen. As these are the first Shire horsos imported to the North Island, thoy aro bound to attract considorablo attention, and their arrival in this district will he awaited with interost.
