FIVE FRESH CASES.

The following fresh cases have been reported :—Alice Russell, living at "Woollah ; Blanche Mort, Hurstville ; Alexander Black, Alexandria; James -' Dallas, Darlinghurst; Martha Booth, Surry Hills. The work of cleansing the city and suburbs is steadily progressing. As one area is released another is proclaimed to be infected and at once quarantined. Melbourne, May 14. A case of supposed plague is reported from Geelong. Received May 15, at 9.25 a.m. Sydney, May 15. The health authorities hold the opinion that rats have carried fodder, a fruitful source of the plague, for dissemenation. Brisbane, May 15. Hans Larsen, a wharf hand, has been attacked by the plague. Other patients are progressing favourably.
