FURTHER PARTICULARS.
A Taonui correspondent sends the following : —
A deaf and dumb man, uamed Wm. Brooker, m the employ of Bailey Bros., was killed last night while returning home from his work. He was walking along the branch line leading from Mr Adsett's mil), when the man m charge of the line was coming down with a truck load .of timber, and not being aware that the unfortunate man was deaf, ha expected him to step off, and when too late put down the bteak. The poor fellow was terribly mangled, and death was instantaneous.
