(Continuation of Report.) Cr West stated that tho new Brigade intended lo submit balance sheets ot the finances of the old Brigade to the Council. FOREMAN OF WORKS REPORT. Work done during past month comprised opening tip. Fitzhcrbert roads " where a culvort had broken down, and replacing it with a larger one, work on Road, 'viz.j.chain of open culvert, filled m with stones to prevent washing out, and 80 loads of clay carted ' .to make embankment good; metalling East St. about half way ; repairs on all roads to damages caused by rain ; placing of culvert taken out of Pitt St at £.encl of Oakley St. ready for forming ; .cleaning ont drain m Featheiston St. towards Rangitikei St ; cleaning out Foxton Line drain, from the Kawau past the Botanical Road ; work to be continusd to West St ; and sundry other small jobs. The creek below Fitzher.ybe'rt roadrequires cleaning right through to Foxton Line, to allow the water to get away, tho cnlverta being now large enough. The drain on Boundary Road towards North St. will be cleared out, though tho water is backed up on acTvcoimt of the Kawau being blocked with ; timber. This water now runs over the '<, road just bftlow the small bridge owing to th« road being very low. Filling up will bo required, there being consider- ; able traffic now from North-street. The water-tables will require cleaning out m North-street, Cnba-stre«t, and atTcrrpce End, much being. requir«d to be done immediately. The water lies m Broadstreet very much, which will be prevented when (he road is properly formed. Oats and oaten hay will bo .required for the horses, and a new stable ushould be built, the present one being mnsafe.
