A. Nost rum Exposed,

A well-known Aucklander has been for some time circulating a pamphlet under the title " Lnfallible Deafn&ss Remedy. Prepared from the recipes of the two most celebrated aural suigeons m the world —the late William Harvey, Esq., Chief Aurist ot the Royal Dispensary for diseases of the ear, London, and Dv Urban Prifcchard, M.D.F.S C.S., Senior Surgeon to the Ear Hospital, London. Sole Proprietor, J. B. Hannaford." The London Medical Press of 18th. March, denounc* s the publication m the strongest terms. It says that Ifaunalbrd was a patieufe m the infirmary 35 ymv* ago, and that m 1881 he wrote to Dr. Pritchard, referring to the fact and detailing certain «vinptonis. Dr. Pritchard replied, aud it is on the strength of this reply that the pamphlet is written. The letter, as published, however, is declared to he quite incorrect, and Dr. Pritchard assures the Medical J'ress that only a single sentence, and that incompletely, is really extracted from his letter. The Medical Press says that " Hannafurd's indiscriminate sale of «, prescription intended for a particular affection .is calculated xo do an inoroinate amount of injury, and it points out that persons may suffer grievously from the employment of remedies of so powerful a nature ag part <■£ the preparations possess." A copy of the Medical Press has been forwarded to every medical man m the colony, m order to expose Mr. Haunaford's conduct m the matter.
