The Harbor Board allotment for freezing purposes was put up to aue tion to-day for a fifty years* lease, and knocked down to the Freezing and Storage Company without opposition at £1 per annum for the first 21 years and 80s per annum for remainder ot tbe lease ; £5000 (?) to be deposited with the Harbor Board as security that £1500 (?) will be expended on freezing works within the n xt five years. .The meiub tr of th^ X i Iwi troop ot cavalry m Auckland have signed an add i ess of sympathy to the Hon. J. Bryce m respect to tne Kusden libels upon bis character. The Orange soiree last night passed off successfully. There was a crowded attendance, and P.G.M. Key. T. W. Dunn, presided. IV:. powers of Church Courts were consi ered, and considerable progress wa made m forming the basis of the Union 'or submidsion . to the respective Churches. Uanimity was practically arrived at on all important questions. In the evening a public meeting was held m Durham-street Church, when the Key. W. Morley presided, and addresses of welcome were deliveue by the tievs. E. Best and W. Tinsley. The following were speakers on variouphases ot tie ilethodist Union— R.vs, D. Button, K. Bavin, J. White and J. Wilson.
'Ihe plumpton ground is now ready for the Waterloo meeting, and it has 230 hares. A trial opening, made to - day, proved very satisfactory.
