The object of this Company shall be to supply a journal to advocate with unflinching earnestness the greatest good to the greatest number of the people. Its columns will be open to all parties ; but its chief purpose will be to furnish an organ of progress in the province, and while respecting the rights of private property legitimately acquired to insist on those duties which its possession involves. 2. The first Board of Directors, five in numbers to be elected at a general meeting of the Shareholders to be held on the first Monday in October, 1865. 3. Voting—Each Shareholder of under five shares—one vote. Five shares and over—two votes. 4. General meetings of the whole of the Shareholders to be held every six months. 5. The Directors shall retire annually by rotation, commencing with the three who have the least number of votes at the first election, retiring directors to be eligible for re-election. Application for shares, accompanied by the deposit of 505., to be made either to the Treasurer or Managing Director.
