Maniototo Rugby Football Sub-union.

| The annual general meeting of the above named union was held at Ranfurly on March 29th. Mr T. f orrester presided, the following delegates being present. Naseby F.C., Messrs D. Marshall and F. G. Morgan; Matakanui F. C., F. Reid and R. Allison; Palearoa F. C., S. C. Greer and 0. Cambridge; Ranfurly F. C., J. Millar and Jas. Mulholland; Middlemarch F. C., unrepresented.'

The minutes of the last annual general meeting were read, and confirmed on the motion of Mr Allison, seconded by Mr Marshal). The annual report and balance-sheet were then considered and, on the motion of Mr Allison seconded by Mr Morgan,, were adopted. The inward correspondence was rersseived and the outward approved of on the motion of Mr Millar, seconded by Mr Allison. The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with.

On the motion of Mr Morgan, seconded by Mr Millar, Mr R. Allison was elected president. Mr Allison then presided for the remainder of the meeting.

Mr F. G. Morgan was elected vicepresident on; the motion of Mr Greer seconded by Mr 0. Cambridge.

On the motion of Mr Mulholland, seconded by Mr Greer, it was decided that the president interview Mr Weir re being secretary, and if not successful to try"and arrange for some other suitable person. Mr T. Forrester consented to act as secretary in the meantime.

On the motion of Mr Marshall, seconded by Mr Milla-, the president, secretary and Mr Morgan were appointed emergency committee. Messrs A. W. Roberts and A. Smith were reappointed auditors on the motion of Mr O. Cambridge, seconded by Mr Greer, and the secretary was instructed to thank them oi: behalf of the Sub union. 4

It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Allison seconded by Mr Millar, that Messrs S. C. Greer and D. Marshall be Selection Committee for season.

On the motion of Mr O. Cambridge, seconded by Mr Greer, the president' secretary and Mr Morgan wereappoined to draw up the fixtures and submit them at next meeting. M. Greer moved, and Mr Marshall seconded—That matches commence on 15th May, and that if they interfere in any way 'with military functions they be postponed accordingly.— Carried.

On the motion of Mr Morgan seconded by Mr Millar, it was decided to do nothing in connection with the Tournament at presnnt. Resolved, on the motion of Mr Mulholland. seconded by Mr Greer, that Mr T. Forrester appoint all referees for the season.

Mr Greer moved, and Mr Allison seconded —That Mr T. Forrester's action in appointing Mr Sandes to again act as the Sub-union's.delegate to the 0. R. F. U. and thanking him for his services be approved uf.—Carried. In accordance with Mr T. Forrester's notice of motion, Mr Greer moved, and Mr Allison seconded—That no senior Flag matches be played in Maniototo County this season. After a good deal of discussion it was moved as an amendment by Mr Morgan, and seconded by Mr Reid— an explanation of the real meaning of the notice of motion be sent to the various clubs, and that it be again discussed at the next meeting of the Sub-union carried. In accordance witb his notice of motion Mr Greer moved, and Mr Morgan seconded. —That no player over the age of 20 years be allowed to play in second grade football. This notice of motion was also held, over till next meeting, on the motion of Mr Allison seconded by Mr Millar. Mr Allison gave notice of motion to move at next meeting that in future Matakanui's home matches be played at Omakau.

Resolved, on the motion of Mi- Marshall seconded by Mr Reid, thai, a letter be sent to Mr R. Haig thanking him for his services in connection with football in Maniototo County. On the motion of Mr Millar seconded by Mr O. Cambridge, it was decided that the Sub - union place on recsrd its high appreciation of the footballers who have gone to the front and that a roll of honour be kept. Mat-akanui Club were granted permission to play a maich with a Port Chalmers team on April 3rd. A draw was then taken for the match to be played on opening day: Matakanui a bye: Naseby v. Patearoa, at Patearoa; Ranfurly v. Middlemarch, at Middlemarch.

The date of next meeting was fixed for Thursday, April Bth. A complimentary vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
