ANNUAL MEETING'.,CRICKET CLUB. The above meeting was held in the Courthouse on Saturday etemnglast. Present Me-srs J. M'Dowcll (chairman). O. R. Cambridge. W.Chirnside, J. Crerar, D. Chirnside. A. 6. Crerar, J. Keely, J. Schrick, E. Griffiths, J. Wilson, and T. Johnston. The balance-sheet was read by the secretary (Mr J. Wilson), when the beautiful cash balance of £IL 16s 4d was found to be in hand from last year. There is also a fair amount of good cricketing material on hand. On the motion of Messrs Schrick and Johnston, Messrs D. Chirnside and Cambridge were" appointed to audit the balance-sheet. This being done, the financial statement was pronounced correct, and passed on the motion of Messrs Keely and Johnston. The election of officebearers was then proceeded' with. Mr K. F. Blakely. on the motion of Messrs D. Chirnside and Keely, was unanimously reelected president, while the following gentlemen were elected vice-presidents on the motion of MessrsO. Cambridge and Johnston: —Messrs A. G. Mathias, J. "A. Grey,; G. Simpson (all re-elected), J. T. S. Crerar, A. L. Herdman, and H. hi. Turnbud. On the motion of Messrs Schrick and J. Crerar, Messrs Wilson and M'Dowell were re-elected secretary and treasurer respectively. Mr J. Crerar then moved that Mr.J. Wilson be re-elecied captain. Mr W. Chirnside seconding this, it was carried unanimously. Mr O. Cambridge, on the motion of Messrs Johnston] and Schrick, was elected deputycaptain. All present, with the addition, of Messrs.. W. Hall and Fred Schrick. were ; appointed. a committee of management oh the motion of Messrs Cambridge and Keely. The following were appointed a match committee: Messrs ,Wjlsou,: : ;F; : Schrick : , M'Dowell, Keely and Cambridge .' The under-mentioned were appointed a grounds committee : Messrs D.. Chirnside, Keely, Cambridge, Wilson, A. Crerar, and J. Crerar.

It was resolved,- on the motion of Messrs | J. Crerar and Johnston, that a standard and j rope boundary be put around the'ground. Mr O. Cambridge proposed, and Mr E. i Griffiths seconded, that £5 be expended on the ground at oner.—Carried. . Mr Schrick proposed, and Mr A" Crerar ' seconded, that new matting, to reach from batting crease to battiDg crease, be procured. An amendment that t h e matting be IGyds long (which would necessitate a gap of 3yds in the middle of the pitch j was moved by Mr D. Chirnside, On the amendment being put to the vote, it was carried by 7 to 4. The match committee, on the motion of Messrs A. Crerar and Schrick, were appointed caretakers of material. Mr O. Cambridge proposed, Mr Keely seconded, and it was resolved, that an openfaced shed, Bft. by 16ft., with a 4ft. 6in. compartment at one "end for the stowage of material, be erected on the ground. The offer of Mr D. Chirnside to form a mud pitch was thankfully accepted. On the motion of Messrs Keely and Schrick it was resolved that theentrance fee be 7s6d. Mr F. Schrick, on the motion of the brothers Chirnside. was put on the free list in recognition of his services to the club in the matter of repairs to material. It was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Jobnston and Keely, that the season be opened with a scratch match on Saturday, October 3rd, play to begin at 3 o'clock. It was Tesolved that entrance fees be paid within two months of opening day. _ Mr Cambridge generously offered a donation of 5s towards cost of shed, and his example was followed by Mr Keely. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting. Appended are the batting and bowling averages for last season. Three bats were presented for competition (one each byMessrs F. Blakely (president) J. A. Grey, and G. Simpson (vice-presidents), one for highest batting average, one for second highest, and one for third highest. These were won by Messrs W. Chirnside, W.
