BAND CONCERT.
A very largely attended concert was given in the Town Hall last Monday (Boxing Night) after the picnic. The first part of the entertainment consisted of a Christy minstrel entertainment, which crpated a good deal of amusement, especially the jokes with a local colouring. Mr Aschoff acted as interlocutor, Mr B. Bellis as bones. Mr J. Ball as tambo ; songs were sung by Messrs J. Ball, T. Lcnnanc, G. Browne. H. Reed, H. Browne, VT. Aschoff, A. Ball, R. Webber, and B. Bellis, Mr E. Hjorring acting as accompanist. The first part concluded with a comical sketch " What have I struck ?" the parts of which were taken by J. and T. Lennane, Bellis, and Aschoff. For the second part several singers had promised to sing who failed to appear, The following items were received with favour:—Song (encored), Mr Anderson ; song, Mr Aschoff; comic song, Mr John Wheeler; song in character. Mr Anderson. The entertainment concluded with a highly amusing farce, entitled, " The Midnight Intruder," in which Messrs W. lAVhite, Bellis, J. and T. Lennane, H. Browne, G. Brown, Aschoff, and M. M-Grath sustained the parts.. The music at the dance which followed was supplied by Mr T. Lennane. ***
\vwWTrranged for the afternoon between the Totii and Country teams—ranges, -JOO, 500 and 600 yds. A* very keen interest was taken in the match, all hands making up their minds to win, and at the finish the town team proved themselves to be the winners by 112 points. Scores as under:—
