NOMINATIONS AND HANDICAPS. Nominations for the Welter. Jockey Club, Flying, President's, and District Handicaps, Naseby Cup, Three Mile, One and a half Mile, and Two and a half Mile Trots to be in on Thursday, January 16th, 189G, at 8 p.m. Handicaps for the Welter and Jockey Club Handicaps and Three Mile Trot will appear in The Mount Ida Chronicle of Thursday, January 23rd, 1896. Acceptances to be lodged with the Secretary before Saturday, February l c t. 1896. Handicaps for the One and a half Mile Trot and District Handicaps will appear on the Course. Entrance for the Handicap Hack Race, Maiden Plate, Selling Stakes, and Novel Handicap to be in at 9 p.m. on the night of general entry. Handicaps for the Flying. Hack, Two and « half Mile Trot. Naseby Cup and Novel Handicap will appear on Wednesday, sth February. 1896. at 10 p.m. Acceptances to be lodged before 11 p.m. on the same night. The winuer of the Jockey Club Handicap to carry 101b penalty in the Welter Handicap. Handicaps for the President's Handicap and Handicap Hack Race will appear on the course. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No horse entered for any Handicap (except the Handicap Hack Race and Novel) will be allowed to run in any Hack Race at this meeting. The first race will start at noon sharp each 'ay. No entries will be received for any of the above races except upon the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision on all points to be final. The winner of an}' race of the value of £2O after the appearance of the weights for the Jockey Club and Welter Handicaps to carry 71b penalty: the winner of two or more such races to carry lOlbs. Nominators for the Trots must specify Previous Performances. Trotting horses t<« carry not less than list; ponies under 11 hands one inch to carry not less than lOst. Names, aces, and pedigrees (if any) of horses entered, with colours to be worn by the riders, to be forwarded to the Secretary with each and every nomination, or tl.e full tine will be enforced. Five per cent, will be deducted from all stakes. Horses walking over to receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. Any person entering a protest must deposit £2. and should the Stewards deem such protest frivolous the deposit will be forfeited. No entries or acceptances will be rcviveil on any pretence whatsoever after the day and hour specified in each case. Exchange to be added on ail cheques. The rules of the Metropolitan Club of the dis-'riet will be strictly adhered to both as regards the racing and working of the totalisator.
