WOOL SALE. The Manager of the New Zealand Land Company telegraphs as follows: We held our second wool sale on Thursday, When a large catalogue was submitted to an excellent attendance of buyers, who competed inost keenly for every lot offei ed. ! -.■> The top pricafor fine greasy crossbreds was 9fd; coarse greasy crossbreds ranged from 7d to BJd.; medium merino was about level with last year's prices; scouredhalfbreds, ls'Sftf ; scoured crossbred, Is; scoured Leicester, lid:; for lustrous wools competition was extremely animated; Our next sale is fixed for Friday, 2nd January. Messrs William E. Reynolds and Cc. Stafford-street, report for the week ending I.loth January as follows: h .Wheat. —We have inquiries for a few hundred bags tbf really prime, and will be pleased to receive samples. JWeyquote, as last: Prime milling, 2s 8d to 2s lOd ; up to 2s 7d. Oats".—This market shows no stens of iniprovemsnt, and if anything is slightly easier. Lines to hand'frbm the.cou.ntry inert with fa.'r inquiry. We qu jte to-day: Prune itillfng, Is lljd to 2s; prune feed, Is lid to lallid; good. Is Ibd to Isiojd.; . ■' ■. ' Seeds.—Ryegrass is .being inquired for from;the north, but we are inclined to think prices will recede when the season opens properly." Very fen- lines have changed hands recently, and at present speculators are inclined to hold "off. We quote to-day: Priuie machine-dressed old pasture, up to 4s per bushel; medium, from 3s 6d to 3s 9d.
Chaff.—Really prime is very scarce and prices have advanced considerably in consequence*—viz. SQs to 90s; while good to medium is slow of sale and is worth ud to72s6d. ..■■'■■ . - :
Potatoes.— Supplieaare arriving steadily and there is no improvement to report. Prime tidnevsare worth £6 to £6 10s; medium, £5 to £5 lte; '. - :
Wool.—There is nothing new to add as regard the Home market.. The. first sale of 1894 opens on the 16th inst., when we hope to he able to report au improvement in prices there. We are pleased to state that we have a very satisfactory catalogue to place before the buyers, and had it not been for the wet season, we would have had a much larger one.
