The Crown Lands Guide, No. 111., has teen issued—a copy of which we have received -from the. Government Printer. It contains; a great amount of information of value to the intending investor and settler, and is published by authority of the Minister of Lands. J Of course the volume is an inspired one, and the views of the Government in reference to the dealing of the runs —particularly those in Otago—will be of great interest at the present time to the members of the numerous Land Leagues, which have sprung into existence in Central Otago. In the preface, therefore, to this handy little volume,.will be found a clause which refers as follows to the Otago runs : " Pastoral runs are exposed for sale by auction at an upset amount of rent. Generally no larger extent of land than will be sufficient to carry aIL the year round 5000 sheep or 1000 head.of cattle, can be offered,in one lot. B<it in Otago the runs are presently .held in much larger areas than is applied in the above limit, and may be again be re-let, not later than 12 months before the expiration of the, present license or lease, in the same or whatever area the Land Board may deem best." This is delightful news to the squatters. So the runs, according to this Crown Lands Guide, issued by .the authority of the Minister of Lands, may be again relet in the same or whatever area the Land Board may deem best. Thus, then, it would appear from the above, that the recommendation of the Waste Land Board would be all-powerful in the matter. ' .-.■-'.•:
