Two of tfhem were dressed in white, and the third in >red garments. The devil in ■red said to All Lee, " You are going to be 'lning to morrow, and after you are hung you will'be bmtied'wi the gaol yard. In the world , tu come try urnd be a better man.. May God have mercy upo« your soul." After Ah Lee 'had <lnno «p<'*king he gave a short laugh, Stit ihe made no uommeot on the dream to Wong Ah i ack. The Chinamen attach considerable 'importance to this narration of the convict, .itnd have ever since being endeavoring to in •terpret the dream, or to discover Ah Lwe's " motive for relating it, but hitherto without success.
