The Port' Darwin correspondent of the 'Australasian,' writing under date July 2, ■says-:—There is scarcely anything, talked ■about in this part of the world but the. late lucky finds of large nuggets by Chinamen. About a month since one of 340z. was obtaine'd at the: new .rush on the Margaret, •whichcreate.d quite a sensation amongst the Celestials,: who: flocked there by hundreds. Shortly afterwards another one was found weighing,jZ2oz., .and ten days'-ago one of I2ooz. came to light. However,-after a time a truce was agreed' to, pending the.arrival of the warden. I am told by the best Chinese authority that during the: short time this new rush has been worked over £30, ; 000 worth of gold has been ; got .by .Chinamen alone;, and the chances are that in .the course of three or four months frmu this we will again be rushed by the natives of the Flowery Land, who can come here without'paying. a single fraction towards the revenue, and if they are industrious, can make enough money to go home and make themselves comfortable for the rest of their lives. '

Oar reefs have also been showing'up well lately, but do not attract much notice as •against the alluvial. Jansen's leader on the old ISTorth Eleanor claim, at Pine Creek, still holds out well, and it is a fact that he can sit down, and crush out two or three ounces iu as many hours, with his own hands, from' specimens taken from this leader, which is a flat onewith two feet of very hard and solid quartz on top and slate underneath.
