MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the Borough Council was held on : Thursday, 19th instant—His Worship th>> M iyor, Crs. G-lenn, Newman, friiffie, and Inder. MINUTES. The minutes were read and confirmed. The petition of J. Farmer ind others, re Broom street nuisance, was referred to the Sanitary Committee. DRAIN. A le ter from J. Dixon, asking for drain pipes to be laid instead of the open drain through his garden, was referred to the General Purposes Committee. BESIDENCE AREA The Town Clerk was instructed to lodge an objection against the granting of the application of a residence area, made by Mr Monk, as it would interfere with a road now in use. GOLO REVENUE. The Committee appointed to confer with a Committee appointed by the i ounty Council re the gold revenue accruing within the Borough, reported that they had met, and that the matter had fbeen discussed, and, uo doubt, it would be satisfactorily arranged at the uexfc meeting of the County Council. CRICKET GROUND. On the application ot Mr Glenn, it was resolved that he be released from his lpase of the grazing right in the Cricket Reserve. Lease to terminate, on this date. FIKAKCE. Accounts amounting to £47 6s were passed for payment.
